In our culture we avoid meaningful conversations about dying. This class is about changing the narrative of dying from being fear-based to being steeped in intention from a grounded, aware perspective. We'll address two distinct parts to "dying well," the pragmatic (legal, financial, medical, etc.) and the inner journey, where our hearts and souls lead the way. Start with a review of the necessary paperwork: advanced healthcare directives, living will information, and other helpful checklists. Then, explore the journey itself. How do we feel about the dying process? Can we make this transition natural and loving? What are your wishes? How will you address your home and your stuff? Who will carry out your death plan on your behalf and how can you share your wishes with family and friends? Lisa McIntrye is author of Living Small and Being Whole.
