Bust out in a riot of color in this beginning level drawing class. Drawing and shading with colored pencils are not hard once you learn some basic color theory, and learn how to "see" the rainbow of colors that can be used to describe something as simple as a blueberry or apple. Class will focus on learning and using three colored pencil techniques: layering, underpainting, and burnishing. Practice each technique and then choose a colorful photograph to create a more elaborate drawing from.Deb Rohr is a lifelong artist with a long background in drawing and painting. She also made a living as a motor sport and fine art/portrait photographer for more than 10 years. Work from a selection of colorful photographic images (you choose what appeals to you) and leave with the skills to expand into your other drawing projects. Class focuses on how to use colored pencils effectively and assumes very basic drawing skills.

Notes:

Please bring and wear a mask for class. $10 materials fee paid in class is for use of pencils, burnishing tools, emery boards, and heavy drawing paper. Bring a lunch for one-day class. Student buys and brings a set of 48 colored pencils, a pencil sharpener, and a vinyl eraser--around $10+ at Michael's or Hobby Lobby. A 24" X 18" archival acid free drawing pad is also a recommended purchase.
