The goal is to be an effective advocate for yourself, while maintaining regard for the person you are dealing with. You want to be able to respond thoughtfully rather than to react impulsively. The key is to slow yourself down so that you bring a measure of objectivity and consideration to the situation. Taking a moment to consider the other person's perspective can make all the difference. In this practical and interactive class, you will learn strategies that can enhance your ability to stand up for yourself without becoming aggressive. You will have an opportunity to practice a simple formula for expressing yourself that you can adapt to different situations.
