If you have some experience with Excel and want to use more of its amazing tools, this course is your ticket. Learn the basics of an Excel spreadsheet and find the tools that will be most useful to you. The Simply Excel course includes basic spreadsheet skills, such as how to navigate efficiently; how to create basic formulas and format simple accurate worksheets, as well as manage sheet tabs.

Course Benefits / Outcomes

    • Demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel interface to include the Ribbon, Command and Contextual Tabs, Galleries, Quick Access Toolbar, and Options preference settings

    • Create and manage effective Excel worksheets

    • Navigate efficiently through worksheets and workbooks

    • Use selection shortcut techniques including nonadjacent ranges

    • Basic Sorting and Filtering to Organize Data

    • Identify mathematical processes to achieve accurate results

    • Use AutoSum, Average, Min, Max, Count formulas

    • Create basic formulas (demonstrate understanding of Order of Operations)

    • Identify and utilize appropriate formatting and formatting practices

    • Auto-sizing columns and rows

    • Inserting/Deleting multiple rows and columns

    • Print standard and customized spreadsheets to include orientation, page setup, margins, page breaks, and sizing, as well as applying headers and footers with automatic page numbering

Prerequisite: Introduction to Personal Computers / Understanding of basics of Windows; some exposure to Excel

On-Demand eLearning courses allow you to learn at your own pace and whenever it's convenient for you. All eLearning courses come with instructional videos, downloadable e-notes workbook, practice file, and knowledge review questions to assess your understanding of the topic. The video courses are composed of six 15-minute segments, for a total of 90-minutes per topic session. Students will receive an email within 2 business days of registering for the course containing a link to the online eLearning videos and downloadable class files and course E-Notes. Videos are accessible for 120 days.
