The Simply PowerPoint course includes basic PowerPoint skills, such as how to navigate efficiently; how to create and manage basic slides for a professional-looking presentation and includes presentation tips.

Course Benefits / Outcomes

    • Demonstrate proficiency in MS PowerPoint interface to include the Ribbon, Command and Contextual Tabs, Galleries, Quick Access Toolbar, and Options preference settings

    • Create and manage effective PowerPoint presentations

    • Navigate efficiently through slides, notes, handouts, and views

    • Use selection shortcut techniques

    • Identify design techniques and formatting practices

    • Create a basic series of slides using various layouts

    • Basic text and graphic tool use

    • Use of Sections for organizational and editing purposes

    • Add Headers and Footers to slides and handouts, including slide numbers

    • Inserting and managing Pictures and Shapes, and creating a Photo Album

    • Presentation setup for printing slides, handouts, notes, and an outline

Prerequisite: Introduction to Personal Computers / Understanding of basics of Windows; some exposure to PowerPoint

On-Demand eLearning courses allow you to learn at your own pace and whenever it's convenient for you. All eLearning courses come with instructional videos, downloadable e-notes workbook, practice file, and knowledge review questions to assess your understanding of the topic. The video courses are composed of six 15-minute segments, for a total of 90-minutes per topic session. Students will receive an email within 2 business days of registering for the course containing a link to the online eLearning videos and downloadable class files and course E-Notes. Videos are accessible for 120 days.
