In this hands-on workshop, we'll dive into the playful, expressive world of mixed media and collage. Through guided demonstrations and approachable techniques, you will explore how color, texture, paper and found imagery come together to form richly layered visual stories. We'll experiment with a variety of mixed media methods - such as painted backgrounds, mark-making, stenciling, intuitive collage, and subtle text elements - building confidence step by step. Along the way you'll learn to combine materials in a way that feels organic and personal. You will create a series of three cohesive, layered pieces designed to work together as a small collection. These pieces can stand alone or be displayed as a trio, reflecting your unique style and creative voice. This class is very beginner friendly. It's perfect for anyone who wants to loosen up, try new techniques, and enjoy the intuitive process of layering materials to reveal meaning and surprise. You will leave with a trio of finished mixed media collage artworks, new techniques for layering, composition, and intuitive decision making.
