"We never remember days, only moments." Cesare Pavese

In this workshop we will slow down together and explore those fleeting moments that often pass by unnoticed but hold surprising depth when we give them space. Using writing and simple mixed-media techniques you'll learn to capture these small joys in ways that feel personal and expressive.
We will explore mixed-media techniques, ideas for translating feelings into visual form, and simple art invitations that pair with journaling.

This workshop is designed for people who want to cultivate mindfulness and find the small moments of joy in a turbulent time. Beginner friendly, all the exercises are approachable, playful, and rooted in presence rather than perfection. This class isn't about making "perfect" art or writing. It's about creating a space where writing and art meet to reveal the quiet, steady joys that shape our days and deserve to be noticed.

Leave with a personalized mixed media journal that is perfect for both writing and art - a series of expressive journal pages, color texture, and small symbolic elements that honor the moments that moved you. The journal becomes a personal archive of moments of joy, a reminder that beauty is always present when we choose to notice. Lisa MacKenzie loves exploring all kinds of ways to make art. She provides students with a fun and open space to learn new skills and experiment with a variety of art supplies.
