In this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop, participants will create their own unique art journal from start to finish using simple bookmaking techniques. Making a journal by hand gives each student the chance to choose the feel, style, and personality of the book they will use, turning it into a meaningful creative object before the first page is even filled. Using decorative papers, textile details, and collage elements, participants will design and assemble a personalized, handmade journal ready to take home for sketches, notes, reflections, or creative projects.

Lisa MacKenzie's career was in IT and project management where she conducted many training courses. A lifelong crafter and artist, she enjoys combining mixed media with book binding. She has sold her handmade books, as well as watercolor paintings and mixed media art. Lisa is eager to share her knowledge and joy with others.
