Making your own book from start to finish feels empowering. Using your hands to fold and sew something that is usually mass-produced is calming and therapeutic in the digital age. Crafting your own book allows for personalization and gives you a strong sense of connection to the finished product. In this beginner-friendly, fun, and informative class you will learn the "anatomy" of a book and how to use basic book binding tools. Each session focuses on making a specific type of book and can be taken individually. In the Fabric Covered Notebook session, you'll learn the process of creating a fabric covered notebook with an elastic strap closure. In the Repurposing a Vintage Book session, you'll learn the process of creating a notebook (with removable pages) using covers from a vintage book (cover options will vary). Leave each class with a handmade book and the skills to create similar books on your own.
