If you want to stand out in your profession, you need to be able to communicate with different audiences in multiple ways. You must build relationships, communicate ideas effectively, and persuade others to take action.

In this beginner's business writing course, you will learn how to write in the clear, accurate, and concise business style with the help of useful writing exercises and other resources. Explore the various forms of business writing and what their purposes are, review writing basics, identify formats and tools commonly used (including AI), differentiate between persuasive and prescriptive applications, explore writing ethics, and more.

You will learn methods for articulating your thoughts clearly, concisely, and compellingly. Practice adjusting your writing style to best convey purpose. Discuss common mistakes writers make in business writing as they analyze, write, and revise different kinds of business documents. Leave class with business writing resources you can use to continue to improve your communication skills.

There is an assumption these days that with AI skills such as writing are less important. Not so! AI generated text is easy to recognize. It sounds convincing but lacks credibility. While AI can generate copy-perfect content faster than most writers, it lacks authenticity and persuasive power. In this class you will learn how to use AI tools, while maintaining integrity and your own creative human touch.
